WETTER: old Meyerhof (Amthof)



One of the oldest farms in the Buer area is the Meyerhof in Wetter. It was established c. 1000 years ago. It became the centre of independant farmers of the area, the so called "Wetterfreie", who were not tied to the local rulers and landowners. Since the 12th century the free farmers held their yearly assembly under the big oak tree.
